SAC2 Smartcard Reader uses the latest smartcard reader / writer
technology. It connects to your computer via a USB port, and is
therefore fully compatible with Windows7, Windows CE, MAC OSX, Windows
98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista.
The SmartCard Reader is compliant with all common smartcard standards,
and is supported by the PC/SC Windows driver. The UNOTRON SAC2
Smartcard Reader is a CCID & EMV certified Plug & Play
reader for PCs with USB 2.0 interface. Beside its easy installation, it
reads memory and microprocessor cards.
The SAC2 is designed to meet all major standards like ISO 7816, EMV
2000, Microsoft WHQL, USB CCID, PC/SC, HBCI (Home Banking Computer
Interface), the PC-2001 specification and many more. The usage within
an application is based on standardised interfaces like PC/SC, OCF
(Open Card Framework) or CT-API. The USB CCID support makes the
integration in an existing system the easiest ever by connecting host
and Smartcard Reader without the need of additional drivers.

Process
Hospital
staff are all too aware of the general principles and
importance of infection control on clinical equipment and surfaces. Yet
how many of them have stopped to consider the cleanliness of one of the
most frequently used pieces of modern day equipment – the
computer keyboard.
It is
unlikely that, you would find a clinical area without at least
one computer and with the aim of having paperless hospitals utilising
electronic patient records the potential risk for cross infection from
